Was on cape for the week, stopped in here for lunch with my brother in law, nothing at all negative to say, the entire experience was enjoyable. Ordered the Cod Fish Sandwich and Quahogs. was perfect. amazing dish . cant say enough. the wait staff was friendly and happy and so was the atmosphere. overlooking the bay. This lunch was the signature lunch for my Cape Cod experience that I will take home with me to NY

Location! Location! Location! Locals told us this was their favorite spot to eat, and even stressed they visit here multiple times a week when they're down at their Summer house. Off we went! We stopped by for a late lunch expecting a long wait but much to our surprise this place is ginormous and there was none. Not even for outdoor seating hugged against a harbor with boats I'll never be able to afford and ducks to entertain the kids. Our food was exactly what I expected it to be. I'm visiting from the shore of Connecticut so I'm accustomed to family friendly marina restaurants that supply standard fare with a handful of standout items. The wings here were surprisingly the star of the show. We ordered everything from buffalo wings, lobster bisque to fish and chips and everyone was satisfied. I will recommend two things; do NOT order from the kids menu. My Daughter ordered macaroni and cheese, and like everywhere else it was Kraft - price gouged 600%. My issue was that it wasn't fresh. It had that hard layer on top. Boxes of Kraft cost 50 cents, why aren't you making a new box? It was inedible. I would also recommend only ordering one drink. The first packed a punch and was refreshing and delicious. The second, I'm guessing is a tourist swap and I question if there was even any booze in it. Overall service was decent, food was good, drinks and kids meal depressing. I would say stop by, maybe even in the evening to enjoy ONE cocktail and the beautiful deck and bar overlooking the marina.

Very cool location right along the harbor. The wait is long but they have a lot of nice tables on the patio you can grab a drink at the bar and sit at. Biggest muscles I have ever had and they were so fresh!

Great drinks. Fantastic view for brunch. A lot of food to choose from if you pick the buffet. SHHHHH.... Little secret about this place. Instead of waiting in the bar... Sit outside by the patio. There are 6 outdoor chairs facing the water... Posting pic of the view...

Today a group of us dined at this restaurant, and we all were very disappointed with the whole experience. We ordered Bloody Mary's for the table-they were undrinkable, we asked for kettle 1 vodka, couldn't taste it! The drink we was way too spicy, (not spicy hot) they masked that fact that there was little to no alcohol with way too much horseradish. Our waitress had a major attitude, and unapologetic for her own mistakes. She also messed up an order at the table caught her mistake but took an extra 40 mins for her to get her lunch, when we were done she received hers. No apologies were given or acknowledgment of mistake nor given a discount for the overall terrible experience! Two thumbs down run away! Go to a different place!! I seriously wish I could get my money back!

We decided to try it out again this year... This time, I still stood awkwardly at the front u acknowledged, but not as long as last time. We were seated outside on a beautiful Friday afternoon. It took quite awhile for our server to come over, but the the beautiful view distracted us. Corona light on draft, crab dip, wedge salad and a quesadilla for $30-ish plus tip...not bad! The food was a little more than mediocre for the price and same with the service. I'm glad we gave it another shot. The atmosphere was totally worth it.

It was a Saturday evening in early May and temp was 40 degrees (not a typo). I was still wearing my down coat. It was hard to believe Memorial Day was only 3 weeks away! The Cape seemed to be one big ghost town, many places were still closed, felt like January not May! We were just about to make a U turn and head back to the house to order a pizza when we came upon Brax Landing, the full parking lot was a good sign. Brax has that comfortable Cape Cod vibe that cannot be found on the west coast (where I now live). We were seated right away, arrived near the end of the dinner hour. Next time would arrive earlier to enjoy the sunset. We enjoyed fantastic lobster rolls and cocktails...yum. Our server Maggie was excellent (2015 Emmanuel College grad, congrats to Maggie).

We stopped in on a Tuesday night for dinner and we were lucky to grab a seat with a view of the harbor. The hostess was very friendly upon our entrance. Once we were seated, it was a matter of seconds before our waitress greeted us and made us feel at home. The waitress brought us some nice hot fresh rolls to start. We began with the house salads. Very generous portions. Nothing fancy but fresh and plenty of it. Our table ordered the roasted salmon with the sun dried tomato vinegarette, mashed potatoes, and string beans. The broiled scallops baked with bread crumbs which came with rice and string beans/carrots, and the broiled seafood platter which came with stuffed shrimp, scallops, stuffed sole, swordfish, and scrod. Let me begin saying it was so nice ordering a meal that wasn't fried and didn't come with French fries. I've noticed fried seafood and burgers all come with French fries up here in the Cape. Usually broiled means tasteless but that was not the case with our meals. All of our meals were fresh and most importantly, very tasty. Whether it was the breadcrumbs, the butter, or the spices, all of our meals were a hit. The side dishes of the rice and vegetables were very satisfying. The portions were generous for the prices we paid and cheaper and better than their competition. There was no room for dessert. The service was excellent and friendly. It's a large restaurant with a nice waterfront view and they don't overcharge you because of the view. You can sit inside or outside. Plenty of parking. We were very impressed with our experience and even happier it didn't involve fried foods. We will be back on our next visit to the Cape.

The worst service I ever had. Took literally 10min to be seated by hostess and waitress didn't ever make eye contact or check on us. The lobster roll had tons of lobster but the bun was ridiculously large and impossible to hold to eat. Coleslaw was flavorless. Nice decor and location by the water. Nice outdoor patio.

Good spot for a casual night out with a great location. We sat inside at the bar, but they have a nice outdoor seating area overlooking the boats/marina as well. The bar is great to grabs drink, have some food, watch a little sports and play some Keno. We didn't win this time, but always great to be able to play while at the bar - and they have a little area in the bar to sit and watch/play. Calamari with the fried peppers mixed in are a must. The Lobster roll was overstuffed, light on the mayo and it tasted perfect. The Brax Burger was great as well, especially when paired with a little Tito's Bloody Mary. We visit the area once every year or so, and always stop in at least once, check it out you won't be disappointed.

What a difference a year makes. Last year, 5 stars. This year I'm struggling to give 2. I had the lobster roll both times. Last year, huge chunks of lobster and an incredible flavor. This year, lobster paste (I had to check my photos to make sure that I wasn't being hyper critical). Like eating spam. The location is beautiful but I'm wary now.

I've been to Brax several times; the food is delicious, and the service is great. My boyfriend and I went recently, were looking to have a couple late-evening beers at the bar, but he was a little hungry so he got a bowl of the lobster bisque. After trying a few bites of his I got my own cup. After finishing my own cup I got a second cup because its THAT good. AND the bartender got such a kick out of it that they only charged us for one bowl! I definitely notice and appreciate little things servers do like that, so I had to repay the favor by letting everyone know how awesome Brax is!

Beautiful location. Food could have been seasoned a little better; Wellfleet oysters were great. Had a positivr time here. Emily was a really great server.

Overall a great experience, the food and service were both excellent. We sat on the deck overlooking a marina with Molly as our waitress. I had the surf & turf which was a nice thick prime rib with two stuffed Shrimp. Both were hot and tasty. My wife enjoyed the lobster roll and lobster bisque. Would go back and recommend to others. Enjoy!!

The location is hard to beat, and we were able to score a lovely table outside on a Saturday in July. Since we are tourists (there with local friends), 0f course we had to go for the lobster roll, and it was tasty. The food was solid, but as one would expect, it wasn't too creative and they don't take any chances with new flavors. We were there with a lovely baby, and our waitress was attentive and very pleasant. Had a few glasses of wine and some nice local beers for the guys.

Worst restaurant ever! Horrible service will never go back!!!! Place was crowded and people were extremely unfriendly. I've never experienced this type of service. It was disappointing as we were hungry travelers visiting from nyc.

A Cape Cod classic with decent Cape Cod seafood fare and an amazing burger. Lovely views indoors and out. Good libations. Nice servers. They get big crowds with long lines, so we go early or late, or in the off season. Recently tried the fried oyster po' boy--good too.

Great outside seating area, love their 23 oz beer option! There is nothing better than a cold beer on a patio over looking the harbor. I am not a huge seafood fan and I knew it was a seafood spot so I wasn't disappointed with my choice-however, my cobb salad was mediocre at best (to be expected). The lobster rolls are supposed to be amazing though. My dad says they are the best he has ever had. You will love it here if you are into fried fish and chips, friend sandwiches, and of course, lobster rolls.

Came here when we could not get into the pretentious Ocean House. After waiting a while for the dismissive hostess to take our name for a table, we sat at the bar and had some great drinks while enjoying the gorgeous view. Finally an hour later we were seated and our waiter, Ken, was fantastic. My husband had the lobster bisque, which he said was awesome, and some very meaty buffalo wings. I had steak tips which were pretty good. We will come back here again next year!

The service is quick and friendly, and as a party of two coming in at 6 on a weekday, we had no wait. I got the fresh haddock, which was very good and fresh except about a quarter of the large piece still had its skin on! Also the coleslaw tasted bland and "aged". My mother had the lobster roll and it "came from the freezer" in her words. Also the floor is dirty and flies (dead and alive) were everywhere.

  • John G.

Fantastic experience! The food was awesome, the service was excellent. I was there on a Monday night and the places was packed! We didn't wait long because we were ok sitting inside. There were a lot of large groups there, so it was a bit loud. I will definitely return.

Local people make good. Brax consistently delivers quality food at good prices. Menu is solid and staff are pros Been an easy place to recommend for years. Prime rib always good. Crunchy Haddock is killer.

First time at this location and may be my last. Ordered the seafood platter but was disappointed on how soggy and greasy it was. The shrimp and scallops were great but the clams and cob were just plain greasy. I would recommend the broiled platted if you are looking for variety. Service was mediocre but got the job done.

Five stars for food. Three stars for attitude. We are not tourists or one timers to this establishment. My grandson has a food allergy and we asked the waitress if there were any of his allergic sensitive ingredients were in what he ordered and she responded "no". The rest of us ordered and fifteen minutes later we were told that allergic ingredients were in my grandsons choice. I then asked if he could get a Reuben sandwich which is on the lunch menu and was told that the chefs don't like to do that and that they were busy! REALLY! FIFTEEN MINUTES TO DETERMINE WHAT WAS IN THE FOOD! THE CHEFS DONT LIKE TO CHANGE UP! WHO ARE THEY! IF I'M NOT THERE THEY DON'T HAVE A JOB! The table next to us got there 20 minutes after we did and got their food at the same time we did (a baked stuffed shrimp dinner no less). We had two lobster rolls, a fish sandwich, and chicken tenders-----all quick items. If you want my continued patronage you need to change your attitude. We are normally there when Linda is our waitress, Julie is the hostess, and Annie is at the bar. NEVER A SINGLE ISSUE! I can't wait for September.

Short wait, great staff, steak tips were excellent! Also got the Crab Dip appetizer... Delish!!

My wife and I ate at Brachs a week ago and just love the food and the atmosphere. We sat on the deck overlooking the harbor. Our service was absolutely fantastic and my fish was cooked to perfection. Looking forward to coming back!

Brax landing is a great classic cape place. The location is beautiful and the decor is casual. The food is pretty standard cape fare but I have never had a bad meal here. The clam chowder is a favorite and the steamers and lobster rolls are excellent. They serve their fish sandwich with cheese which I don't care for but I just have it without and that is also very good. Service is always very good but make a note it can be very busy during the summer months. The prices are also on par for a place in the harbor like this. It is one of our staples when we are are in the area.

Lousy service - even in the off season - and we both got very very sick the next day. I was diagnosed with food poisoning and when I called to let them know that they might want to check out the food, the owner? manager? came on the line and told me I was wrong because it "took too long for me to get sick". Really? Had the seafood platter and the seafood casserole so be warned. Any place can accidentally get someone sick - it's the nature of food. But to be so rude when I was calling ONLY as a courtesy to the establishment (and I said that up front) tells me that there's little if any concern for customers. Avoid unless you like bloody diarrhea, chills and excruciating cramps.

When friends visit from out of town, we go to Brax. It never disappoints. Don't mind that they don't take reservations, sometimes the most efficient places are those that get them in and get them out without making you feel rushed. I've never had to wait as long as they told me I would, making every seating a pleasant surprise. One of the few harbor-front dining locales on the entire Cape, the location alone is worthy of the trip, but the food is the star here. You'll find the traditional fare your grandparents ate on Cape Cod-- fried haddock with cole slaw and fried, whole belly clams, clam chowder and lobster rolls, with plenty of pasta and steak too. There's a reason this stuff has been served in coastal restaurants for decades. It's delicious! The staff is super friendly and skilled. In fact, this one special waitress remembers my little group in spite of us not having been there for months at a time. Most impressive!

Truly excellent seafood with a great view of docked boats in an inlet. The one warning is that you will likely have to wait upwards of 45 mins+ at busy times, but it's worth it. While we waited, we grabbed drinks from the crowded bar and enjoyed them out on one of the two decks in the back of the restaurant. They offer a couple of craft beer selections, which was nice to see. Drinks are reasonably priced, too. The first night we came here, I went with the crab/spinach/artichoke dip + steak tips. Both were above average for sure. The second night I had the broiled seafood platter, which was amazing. It was stuffed shrimp, scallops, scrod, stuffed sole, and swordfish in a huge portion, which is served with rice and veg. Expect to pay $18-24 for most dinners, which isn't too ridiculous considering you're getting fresh seafood. Definitely check this place out, but come before 5:30!

Literally just walked out of this place moments ago. Was sat outside on the deck and ignored by multiple servers for over 10 minutes. No one seemed in a hurry to do much of anything for paying guests. 0/10 Will Not Return.

Food isn't anything fantastic. 4 stars for atmosphere and friendly service, and average food. Expect a wait during dinner time, but we didn't mind the 45 minute wait when we found a table on the lower patio and had a couple drinks from the cocktail waitress, then got called for our outdoor table. I had the fish and chips which was good but probably not $17.99 good. Again, you're paying for the atmosphere. Should have gotten the prime rib special or the surf and turf special, which I've had before and it was delicious. Other 2 people in my party enjoyed their meals. The steamers are soaked in a garlic/herb water which gives them a great taste, and I don't even like steamers! Great place on a hot summer night if you want a nice view of the harbor.

We were looking for a local seafood restaurant on the water when we discovered Brax. Upon reviewing the menu, which is loaded with a large variety of items from sandwiches to full entries, we both decided on trying the clam chowder and crab dip. The chowder was thick (but not too thick) and creamy, loaded with clams, and very satisfying. The crab dip was very delicious, and the fresh pita chips were the perfect item to pair it with! For dinner I had to try the lobster roll, and will say it certainly lives up to the hype! Loaded with the meat from at least two lobsters, it was more than heaping, and more than delicious! My wife had the pesto shrimp, which was loaded with nice juicy large shrimp and very filling and delicious as well. The view of the harbor may not be fantastic, but at least it is a nice place to sit outside on a nice warm day! Brax is certainly worth another visit next time we are in the area!

  • Heather G.

We received recommendation from a local. With the rain thought we would at least enjoy the harbor view! I'm sure the patio is a hotspot when Mother Nature is having a good day. Pretty landscaping. Lobster Roll was best we've had on mainland Cape. Lots of chunks and very fresh on large bakery roll. Timing of meal was OFF- entree came before we had 2nd bite of appetizers. The crap spinach & artichoke should have just been called spinach & artichoke dip. Clam chowder was delicious. Waitress was friendly and attentive but forgot to offer rolls and the daily specials.

Awesome! Visiting here to vaca from CT and visiting friends, we had dinner here Tuesday evening. I had the lobster (1 1/2 lb) perfectly done. They were even nice enough to pre-crack it for me. My husband had a sampler plate as did our friend. They ate just about all of it. Wendy had away and salad which she enjoyed as well. We would def go back on our next trip out here. The waitress was lovely and always asking if she could get us anything. A wonderful evening

Zero star as far as I'm concerned. If you want to waste your time and deal with rude staff, this is your place. We first waited 10 minutes for the hostess to even acknowledge our party of 5. We then waited 40 minutes to be seated, although we were told it would be after 15 minutes. The hostess said the umbrella at our table was broken so we couldn't open it (news flash, it wasn't, all we had to do was try). Then we waited one hour for our food to arrive -- actually just 4 dishes out 5, we had to wait 10 more minutes for the 5th one. Just plain terrible experience.

This review is for the Lobster Roll only. A few weeks ago while back on our yearly trip we ordered 6 lobster rolls to go with fries. They were the best! I normally try 2-3 lobster rolls every summer on the cape to compare and this year Brax takes #1. The fries were hot also when we got home. See you next year Brax!

Took almost 2 hrs for an outdoor table but the food was so good, worth the wait! Had the grilled salmon fillet: freaking DELICIOUS. Everything that the rest of my family got they also said it was fantastic. Food came out pretty quick but service was nothing extraordinary. Would definitely recommend though!

Location, location, location! Great patio dining, great service, the food was pretty good. Had the French Dip sandwich (special) with hot-out-of-the-fryer fries, washed down by a very decent Sauv Blanc. Again, GREAT service. Everyone is super-friendly and efficient. No complaints about the view either!

When we walked in we were acknowledge by the staff. Then when the hostess finally came and took our name, we were told wait time was 30 minutes. She asked if we preferred outside or inside seating. We told here inside since it was getting a bit cold outside. Then we told her we will grab at drink and wait outside. Shortly thereafter, the hostess called us, said she had an outside table available. My husband said that we requested inside seating. After a wait, we were seated at a table in the bar area right in front of the lottery register. Waited for our waiter. He was friendly and nice. It took a long time for our food to arrive between courses, we were never asked if we would like another beverage or refreshment. Once dinner was finished we waited for our bill. The food was delicious and the clam chowder was delicious. But, my husband and I felt that we were "stereo-typed" since we were wearing our motorcycle jackets. We would think twice before having dinner there again.

Nice dining outside and had only a short wait to eat outside for lunch.we both had the swordfish sandwich and it was so delicious. It came with a wasabi sauce that really added to the sandwich.

Beautiful location! We love that Brax Landing is consistent each time we visit, and we've fallen in love with the Sunday Brunch! They offer everything from eggs benny, to prime rib, and baked ham! Just to name a few. Pace yourself, and leave room for the wonderful desserts!

the server was very hospitable as we indecisively quibbled about where exactly we wanted to sit the 8 of us plus two toddlers. gramma loved her lobster roll, the sirloin tips and seafood platter were good. i personally liked the clam chowder from one of my other reviews better, but its not bad. no one liked the al dente green beans, too fluorescent in color and crunchy, but others may like them cooked that way. my son said the tomato had more taste than his burger. the view is nice, the beer choices were acceptable, but the wine list questionable. probably won't return for food but sitting outside in the summer by the water taking in the view with some mixed drinks might be fun.

Sitting outside looking out at the harbor is the way to go. The Quohogs are very good, the fried seafood is decent and beer is cold.

We have had many wonderful meals, both lunches and dinners, at Brax over the past 5 years. Today's was an exception. The service was very slow and the wait time for our food was excessive. My wife ordered the lobster sandwich ($20.99) and it was awful. Nobody in our party could eat the lobster. Not sure what they put in the lobster salad. We told the waitress at the end of the meal that we felt the lobster just wasn't good. She just smiled and said "I'm sorry". It was barely touched. We felt that she should have offered to take it off the bill. Bottom line....pass on the lobster.

This place can handle large groups like the table next to us and our dinner for two. Nice outside patio right on the water. Food was fresh - clam chowder was pedestrian but well fleet oysters are always good and we had the special broiled seafood platter - again, ok. And a pot of mussels in Guinness sauce - yummy. Very pleasant, if not gourmet

1 star for being open during hurricane irene. A half of a star for the Brax salad. Yummy cranberries and blue cheese. A half of a star for the scenery. Everything else was.... pretty bad. I order the cajun swordfish with mango salsa. There was about 2 teaspoons of chopped up mangos and pineapple on the side of the fish... they should have bought the mango salsa from Roche bros, it would have been so much better. The veggies were under cooked and the french fries were out of the freezer. Not to mention the swordfish was fishy. Not very good. My mom ordered the baked scrod and her fish was good, but she had the same problem as me with her side dishes. The service was mediocre at best. Kinda a tourist trap place. Bad food for a lot of money. Wont rush back. Although, I do have to give them props on their bread basket. I did like the dinner rolls...not enough for another star though.

Looking for a place for dinner. Many rated restaurants were closed or on limited hours for the season. Brax was open with a full parking lot (always a good sign) so we stopped in. Lobster dinner was very good. Even with a full house the service was fast and efficient. Good atmosphere, friendly service.

Our last night at the Cape and wanted lobster. Wife had the 1-1/2 lb lobster and I had the best chowder ever! and the lobster roll. The roll was packed with lobster on a sub sandwich roll. Had to take half home. We will definitely come again on our next visit. Be prepared for about a 40 min wait. This is a popular place. Cocktail patio is a good waiting spot overlooking the harbor.

Third time we have been here over 2 years and it is still just as delicious as the first time. The huge portions and fabulous clam chowder & gimungous lobster rolls are only superseded by the breathtaking view of the harbor! !

I love this place!!!! I have been coming here for years and it is consistently good, winter, spring, summer and fall. The service is friendly and its a super fun place to come anytime of day for drinks or food or both. Shout out to the awesome bartenders but really everybody is great, down to the busboys. I have tried probably half the menu I think everything is great. But the lobster roll is outstanding. I almost don't want to say that because I'm afraid they will raise the prices, but its the best lobster roll money can buy on par with the lobster shack in Maine. You have to go on a lazy summer day sit on the deck , bloody Mary, steamers, lobster. Reminds me of the old cape days before everything became super expensive and really really snobby.

My boyfriend took me here for my birthday on August 9, 2011. Little did I know he would propose to me that evening, but it was after we left Brax Landing and went to Provincetown to a real restaurant. We walked into Brax at 4pm because I was told by many to get there early. So we did. We were seated immediately inside by the windows looking at the outdoor seating. There was only 4 couples at these tables, and no one else in our section. There were quite a few service personnel, but we could not one to come over and ask us for drinks or take our order. There was on girl who kept walking by our table helping the people on either side of us. She saw us looking at her, and we tried to talk to her. After 20 minutes (almost exactly), she was standing with a bunch of servers by the hostess stand leaning back on a ledge in a very relaxed stance. We got up and asked her if she was our server. She "No, she is." And pointed to some girl. The girl looked at us and walked away. So did we. We walked right out. Don't know if that lobster roll is good or not. We never got that far. If they get busy every August because of summer tourism, maybe they don't need any more customers. Look at how many reviews here complain about the service.

What a wonderful meal. We were outside overlooking the beautiful harbor. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The food was fabulous. We all had a cup of Lobster bisque that was outstanding. I had the Brax salad - yum! Hubby had a salad with grilled shrimp that he loved. My teenage boys had fish and chips that they inhaled! I also had a Piña Colada that was very tasty and reasonably priced.

Great place for Sunday brunch! Lots of selections, we had eggs Benedict, waffles, seafood gratin, carving station, chicken curry, rice, & an assortment of desserts! Great meal for a good value & excellent view of the marina!

I came here for the second time this past weekend. For the first trip I had an enjoyable boiled lobster, and some majorly delicious frozen drinks on the patio during a hot day. Second trip we sat inside in the bar area for a quick lunch. The steamers were the perfect snack, and service was great and more importantly quick as we were in a rush. Great seafood options, terrific drink selection, great space, and superb service. Will continue to come back!

A delicous lobster roll over looking Harwich Port harbor. How can you beat that. We went after the summer season ended so we got right in. I can imagine the wait in the summer.

Don't understand why this place is so popular. Nice views. Our waitress was good. The food was so-so. My husband had the lobster roll that we were told they were famous for. Uh . . . nope. If you want a great lobster roll, go to Bayside Betsy's in Provincetown. I had the sirloin tips and they were terrible. Grainy, tough, and overly marinated. For dessert I ordered their mudslide and it was too horrible for words. More like watered down milk. No taste whatsoever. We won't be back.

Good family place. Oysters Rockefeller were some of the best I've had and 3 of us had a crispy haddock special that was on the money. Quahogs were great too. Toddler was happy with her mac 'n cheese which for some reason seems hard to come by on the kids menus up here. Our waiter seemed distant at first but he came around and all in all we had a nice meal with drinks that didn't break the bank.

Brax Landing was kind of a hidden gem. It's very popular and very busy but I just wasn't expecting much from the food. We arrived and had about an hour wait, so they told us to go to their lower patio to hang out. The lower patio is solely for drinking and waiting which is pretty awesome. We got to chill on a beautiful outdoor patio on the water with refreshing beers before our dinner. It made the wait seem like fun. We got seated and had an absolutely amazing and charming server. We ordered a few appetizers as well as our meals. The crab dip was adequate and the steamers fresh. I ordered the steamed lobster, which at 21 bucks wasn't a bad deal. The real star of the meals were the friends' lobster rolls. These should not be called lobster rolls... they're more like lobster bombs. They're served on a sub roll with tons of fresh lobster meat bursting out. I've never seen a more delicious looking lobster roll. The one negative about this place was the absolutely frazzled bartender who was distracted and kind of rude when we ordered drinks and the fact that I had to wait about 20 minutes to even put my name on a list for a table. But for such a busy place, that's excusable. I'm adding this to the list of regular places for my next trip to the Cape.

Our party of nine was seated within 10 minutes on a very busy rainy Friday in late July. Classic Cape Cod menu--nothing nouveau or gastro-glam--just great summer fare. Fried clams were light and tender, crispy fried haddock enormous and delicious, lobster roll was the size of Bob Lanier's shoe in the Basketball Hall of Fame (size 23!). Onion rings were perfect, and the Wellfleet oysters can be described the same way. Very friendly staff particularly given that they were absolutely slammed. The spicy bloody mary's needed no modification!

Had dinner at Brax Landing while in town for a long weekend...the service was great, and the atmosphere was very Cape Cod-y. Fortunately we were flexible and we able to be sat immediately; unfortunately we were next to a table of ten LOUD people so it was hard to hear, but that wasn't anyone's fault. The food was pretty good, the quahog (sp?) was kind of tasteless - it was a bit like chewy stuffing - but besides that no complaints...our other foods were delish. Would definitely come back.

Fresh seafood. Very good off the boat catch of the day. You got to try it. The deck is nice as long as you're not in the sun. It's a must try.

My first trip to Brax was on my trip to the Cape last summer, and I loved it enough to come back this year - I think it's just become an annual tradition. I was originally brought here for the legendary lobster rolls, which did not disappoint. The rolls themselves are huge, but the individual pieces of lobster in it are also sizeable. They have just the right amount of mayonnaise and a hint of flavoring, but nothing overpowering. Along with the sweet potato fries, it's all around delicious. This year when I went back we tried a few other things too. The chowder was thick and delicious, my favorite chowder I've had so far this trip. The Wellfleet oysters were so incredibly fresh, and also huge. We also ordered the stuffed quahog, which I had never heard of and had no idea what to expect. It's essentially chopped up clam, pepper and onion in a breading, stuffed into a gigantic clamshell, baked to tasty perfection. Obviously, I was a fan. On top of the great food, the location can't be beat. I don't know what it's like sitting inside (seemed a little over-themed) but the back porch has an awesome view of the harbor and there are beautiful flowerbeds back there too. It's just such a lovely setting. I will admit that the service was pretty slow, but it gave us an excuse to sip Sam Summer looking out over the harbor. I'm not complaining...

We hosted two family dinners at Brax while in Cape Cod last week. I'm not gonna lie -- this place gets crazy busy and doesn't take reservations. During peak hours, expect a long wait especially if you have a large party. The bartenders are excellent at what they do and made us some super stiff drinks while we waited for our table. :-) The menu offers many choices but focuses on the local seafood, all of which we found to be fresh and delicious. I had steamed whole lobster one night (huge) and a gigantic slab of cod another night. From the super size lobster rolls (rumored to have more meat than the whole steamed lobster) to chowder and broiled entrees, all was amazing. Staff are helpful and quick on their feet. Definitely one of the best places we ate at while in the Harwich area.

A seemingly small, no frills restaurant from the exterior, this is not the case once you're inside. The placed was jamming at 730pm on a summer Friday night and we were immediately greeted by the hostess. With less than a 45 minute wait, we were seated on the deck overlooking Saquatucket Harbor. Our server, Christopher, was friendly and had a great sense of humor; something, that in my opinion goes a long way in the culinary business. The food was perfectly cooked, delicious, and full of flavor; garlic, pepper, salt, thyme, rosemary, and the goodness of great seafood. The prices: perfect. Nothing is over-priced and everything was done right. The one suggestion I have for the owners is: please place either candles on the tables or dim lights under the table umbrellas (it was hard to read the menu and see our food at night,) other than that, it's a great place to be.

My boyfriend and I went to Brax tonight, we live up the street year round and I knew there was a reason I hadn't returned in the 6 years since I'd last been here. It was not busy at all, being a server myself and doing over $1500 in sales last night, it was dead by comparison, which is surprising considering how many cars I usually see out front. It took our server about 10 minutes to acknowledge us. We ordered drinks and appetizers to start with, as we had already gotten a good look at the menu. Our appetizers arrived before our drinks, which was beyond bizarre to me. Our main course came out promptly, however, over half of the shells of the steamers I'd ordered were broken and the clam itself had never opened during cooking, and as most know, you probably shouldn't eat those. I had to put half of my meal to the side, our server never came to check up on us at the beginning of the meal, which is an issue for someone who knows the business. I could understand if the kid was slammed, but he was standing up front talking with the other servers. Halfway through my half of an edible meal, he came over and said, and I quote "you guys are almost done, right?" And dropped the check. My boyfriend and I, both being servers and veterans of the Cape Cod restaurant industry, were completely shocked. Never have I ever rushed a table out with such blatant disregard. I was disgusted. Like I said, being in the industry, we still left an 18 percent tip. Had this kid been an attentive and courteous server he would've been left the standard at least 40% we usually leave. His loss and also a loss for Brax as they will never be getting our year round business after this ridiculous, hot mess of an evening again. Brax, your view may be lovely, but I can make myself a sandwich and walk down the street to the beach with far less stress than you provided me with this evening. Consider staffing with older, more experienced servers instead of 18-21 year old kids who are more concerned with printing a cash out and hanging out with their friends than providing your customers with adequate service.

OK this place has great burgers and a nice view, and the yelp map is wrong as this is on rt 28, not downtown, which is where my gps also thought it was.....have been visiting here for many years while on the cape and have always been impressed, the food is very good and i am always impressed by their burgers, will continue stopping here!!!!!!!!!

Ate at Brax last night and although the staff was absolutely wonderful, the food and drinks leave much to be desired. The clam chowder and lobster bisque were both mediocre at absolute best. I can't believe there are people on Yelp saying its the best they've ever had. The broiled entrees (we had scallops and cod) were bland with very little of the seasoning, and both came with steamed cauli and broc. It was like they got a bag of frozen veg at the grocery store and stuck it in a microwave, then onto our plates. The stuffed shrimp was yummy (read: crazy rich and heavy) but the shrimp pesto tasted funny... There was some seasoning that just wasn't right. Even the frozen margaritas left much to be desired. It's strange that the server had to check my id before letting me order it, as I'm not sure there was even any tequila in there... All of this and pricey to boot. I know its right on the water and not too many places are, and its the cape and so everything is expensive, but I definitely won't be returning to Brax. Despite the pretty view and the friendly and attentive staff, I'd rather spend my money on food that tastes good.

Where should I start? I never post on yelp, but this was such a bad experience that I had to comment and warn other tourists. Beautiful for drinks, great spot, on the water, this I can not deny. That's where it ended. Go for cocktails, watch the boats, and go somewhere else to eat. Food was okay, prices were reasonable. waiting for service and attitude from waitress was not. At one point we went to the bar ourselves to get drinks because our section was being ignored. There are plenty of great spots on cape cod, save your money and go somewhere else. Unless you want to wait, get attitude and leave angry ,then this is your spot hands down!

typical, eat all your want and huge variety of food, sorta place. decent food at a relatively cheaper cost than most places. one of the only places on cape cod that has genuine brunch that is low cost. Id highly recommend this for families and for those wanting a decent brunch. long waits sometimes during the summer.

This place has the worst customer service. The waitress was disinterested and distracted. I asked for a side of pasta instead of a potato, the menu said your choice of starch. She came back and said the kitchen said it wasn't possible. Really, not possible to put some pasta in a small bowl! Stay away! And as an add on several folks had steak tips ordered medium rare and they came well done. Go to Buca or Noble or any other place!

Even though there was a 45 min wait and the food took some time to come out, we had an amazing waterfront view and the food was equally spectacular. Great place for a special night- wouldn't recommend if you're just looking for a quick stop, but perfect for those who are not in a rush. Food and views are worth the wait.

We visited Brax Landing late on a Friday afternoon. It didn't appear terribly busy in the parking lot. We were slightly weirded out by what appeared to be kitchen staff outside a gated area adjacent to the front walkway that were roaming around on cell phones and sitting atop milk crates scratching lottery tickets; nonetheless, we went in. There was a sign that told us to wait for seating so we did. Several staff members passed us by without saying a word but finally someone approached us with menus in hand and said to follow them. We had wished they had asked us if we wanted indoor or outdoor seating, but as we were walking to the table they had chosen for us, we were told they were full outdoors. I should mention that we had a small child (by small I mean 13 months old) and we assumed that when the woman seating us walked away, that she would have returned momentarily with a highchair. We were wrong. We waited for our server with our baby greedily reaching for our menus as we tried to figure out what we wanted to order. We were finally approached by our server who introduced herself without any enthusiasm whatsoever. She launched into a speech of the day's specials and then asked us if we had decided what we wanted to drink. We placed our drink order and then had to ask for a highchair since our server failed to realize that we were clearly in need of one. We placed our order when she returned with the drinks -- a cheeseburger for the little one, a boursin burger for me and a brax burger for the hubby. I added extra mushrooms to my burger and asked for it without the bun. The view from our table was great and our food arrived fairly quickly. I thought it odd that the extra mushrooms I had asked for were delivered on the side. The burgers were all just OK -- none of us found anything special about it and my little one, after a few bites, was even tossing chunks on the floor. (Don't worry -- I'm one of those mothers who actually cleans up after her toddler; I was once a waitress!) The burgers were a good size and they were cooked to order, but the fries were your basic shoestring variety with no special flavor so no value was added there (McDonald's has better fries in my opinion). Overall we were not terribly impressed. This might have been a 3 or 4 star experience had the waitstaff seemed happy to be there...but they weren't, so we weren't.

Brax has a nice location with outdoor seating on the water. The food is pretty good as are the drinks. The problem we had was our rude waitress, Charlotte. She really made the experience miserable for everyone at my table. My mother in law asked for something very simple and the waitress walked away before she could even finish her question. After our food was served, she never checked on us even though our waters and our drinks were empty. My husband never received the lettuce and tomato he asked for and I had to stop at a convenience store after lunch to get a drink because I was so thirsty. Once we were finished eating she brought the check and walked away. A horrible experience all because of a waitress. We probably won't go back unless we hear that the service has improved. As a Cape Cod local, it is disappointing to know one of the few decent year round restaurants has such horrible service.

I found this place through Yelp while vacationing on Cape Cod. IT got good reviews, and I believe it deserves them. The staff was helpful and attentive although we went on a quite night in the off-season. Here is the breakdown of what we ordered: Steak tips - excellent but they came medium instead of medium rare as I specified. They were really juicy and came with a good horseradish juice Clam artichoke spinach dip -very good nice subtle clam but pita chips were a bit tough. They did season the chips though so they were not terrible. Stuffed shrimp with steamed veggies and rice pilaf - the Rice pilaf was a touch over done but had good flavor. The steamed veggies very fresh, simple but great flavor and not soggy. Shrimp was slightly overdone. The stuffing was simply amazing. Boursin burger was superb. Greasy but excellent flavor and good combination of toppings. My order came with fries instead of the baked potato that we had requested but that was promptly addressed by the waiter and the fries were pretty good.

Decent food, the brax burger was very good. However, the only reason it gets as busy as it does is because of the location on the water. It was dark and crowded inside and I could tell the wait staff was flustered. Would be better to go when it wasn't so crowded, maybe just for a drink.

I've visited Brax on several occasions as I have family down the Cape and it always seems to be the go to place just to satisfy a large group of people. First off, this place always seems to be packed, like way more people in the parking lot than can actually fit in the restaurant. I swear most of the time it's people just parking to go in and coming back out once they realize how long the wait is. There's clearly a bottleneck somewhere in the operations that slows everything down inside whether its the waitstaff or kitchen; I don't know but it's not a place to go if you're in a rush. Once inside you're treated to a nice view looking over the water. There's seating in several small rooms and outside on the back deck. While there is an a/c in some of the rooms, you'd never know. It's usually very warm and sometimes humid which doesn't pair well long periods of waiting. As with most of Cape restaurants, most of the menu is seafood. I don't eat seafood but my friends and family usually don't have anything bad to say about it. I usually stick to a chicken or beef sandwich or entree which are usually OK. Last time I got the steak tips (medium) and ended up getting 3 large strips of well done steak. We had been there for about an hour and a half at this point so I just dealt with it. Someone mentioned there isn't any vegetarian food; there are pasta dishes and my girlfriend who doesn't eat meat has been able to find or request something to eat without issues.

Went in August 2010 during summer tourist rush as my friend from Mass had been before and wanted to take us. It's decor is Captain's House, lots of sea stuff, including some interesting tables. There is outdoor seating but it was a bit too damp for us to brave it. App - Little neck steamers - Steamy and yummy. Main - Shrimp Bake - I stuffed myself. It hit the spot but I think I was also pretty hungry. I'd do it again though! Other - Friend had the stuffed lobster, had to take half it home it was so big. Another had the scallop plate, which was ok but I like more flavor on my scallops.

All I gotta say is New England Clam Chowda'! During a couple stays in the Cape Cod vicinity, my family and I visited Brax almost daily. Lucky for them, there's not a whole lot of restaurants in the the area. But that wasn't why we kept coming back. It was the freakin' chowder... THE best clam chowder I have ever had. It's super thick and creamy and has tons of huge clam chunks, just the way I like it. As far as the other food, some was decent, some was not. Overall, probably more on the mediocre side. But Brax gets super high brownie points for cooking and serving us some of our Striped Bass that we caught a couple hours prior on the fishing charter that docks in the harbor next door. Very cool of them and the meal was fantastic.

This is probably the worst restaurant I have ever visited. It smells absolutely disgusting at the entrance, like a mix a of raw sewerage and so many rotten fish. I do not understand how people would go back and eat there again. The first time I went was because I was with friends and we were famished, we had to eat something, and frankly it tasted pretty awful. The second time was accidental, and I didn't stay -- the stench once again was absolutely putrid. Never again !!!

Our resort recommended this place. The food was good, but the service was a bit slow. Our waiter recommended the Calamari for an appetizer, but we never got it. The main course came out, and I said to him that we never got our appetizer. He seemed puzzled, and I said you even recommended it. I told him to forget it as there was plenty of dinner in front of us, and he said he would check to see what happened. He never told us, so guessing it was his mistake. Either way, the food was good and plenty of it, but service was pretty slow - even though they were not super crowded. Scenery was nice - we were seated at the window. I don't know that we would rush back the next time we are on the Cape. One thing that wasn't there fault, was 2 kids that had finished their meals, and they were running around the restaurant, yelling and playing around. Again, not the fault of the restaurant - just the parents, but it was a bit annoying, and glad we were at the end of our meal.

This place has it down right! The Wings are fantastic, the Avocado BLT is my favorite. The only time this place isn't packed is during the winter, and they somehow manage to take great care of their customers all of the time. The bartenders are friendly, the owner cares about the patrons, and the chef even comes out from time to time to make sure everyone is enjoying their meals. This is a great place to take your out of town friends. Great view, great food and great atmosphere.

Though we've been to the Cape many times, this is the first time we tried Brax Landing. We went on a Sunday night and there was still an hour wait. Went to the outdoor raw bar, though, so it was nice and relaxing with a great view. The young waitresses were very friendly. We liked the clam chowder a lot, and the lobster rolls were great. Though they are seated on lettuce and look bigger than they are, there was still plenty of lobster. The prime rib special was also enjoyed. We expect to be back.

The atmosphere at Brax is very friendly and homey and the views of the water are pretty spectacular, but the food wasn't anything special. For example, the dinner rolls are store bought and served cold - would have really loved some fresh baked bread! We ordered the mussels appetizer and lobster rolls as an entree. The mussels were quite good, but the lobster rolls were disappointing. It seems like the roll (again, store bought) is overflowing with lobster when in fact the roll is first stuffed with lettuce and then topped with a very small amount of lobster - this is very disappointing. The lobster itself was also not that great; the seasoning is a bit too heavy on the mayonnaise for my liking. I like to taste the flavor of lobster, but the dressing seemed to mask the lobster taste. We had an overall good experience at Brax, but we probably won't be going back soon.

I went here for Lunch on Monday and it was good. We had a party of five (no pun intended) and got seated right away on the deck. We were there a little later then normal lunch (1:30). Our server was nice, attentive and was able to recite the specials without having to look at anything. He got us our drinks fast enough although asked if we wanted refills- three of us were just having water and it was 90 degree humid day (uh yes we wanted refill's hence the 4 vs 5 star rating). I got the Turkey Panini sandwich, my step mom got the lobster roll, my dad got some Oyster dish to start and a club sandwich, one sister got just plain ceaser salad and the other got the salmon cesar (one of the specials of the day). All food was great, perfect portions and eaten. I was here once a year or two ago for dinner with the same crew plus my husband. Dinner was good as well from what I remember- we all got seafood items, if I remember correctly and it was decent enough. Outdoor seating is great and the view is wonderful.

Just received some of the worst service at a restaurant ever. A very surly hostess sat us down in the half empty restaurant. Even though there were 6 waitresses standing around about ten feet from us, no one came for our drinks, etc. After asking the hostess if we were going to be served, she disappeared and never came back. We left, and we'll never be back either. Went across the street to Embers for a lovely meal.

I've always said about Brax that you pay for the view, not the food, and I've generally felt that the often extremely long wait times are not worth it. This is all still generally true, but for what it is, it's a-okay by me. I'll not that it looks like they added an outdoor raw bar this summer, which is a nice touch. My advice on Brax is: go there and put your name in, try to snag an adirondack chair out back overlooking the water, enjoy a cocktail or two and the raw bar- who cares if your name never gets called! When it comes to dinner time (if you even make it that far) don't order anything too challenging. Go for chowder or fish and chips or something. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with the steamers there- fresh, clean, and delicious.

food is hit and miss. service is always bad. view is great. usually a long wait for outside tables at peak times. usually a long wait for food after you order. had the prime rib, rare, it was excellent. others in my party had it medium and it was like sawdust. the stuffed shrimp were overcooked. lobster bisque was good (no lobster meat). great place for cocktails on the deck.

Went last week while on vacation on Cape Cod. Arrived at 5:40 and was told it would be at least an hour for a table for 8. The hostess didn't tell me until 1 hour into the wait that a table for 8 outside would actually be 2 tables ( because she said the tables were bolted to the floor) if we didn't want to put 8 people at a table that can comfortably fit 5 people. Since we opted to wait to have 2 tables next to each other, that added another hour to our wait. While you are waiting for your table, the only food available to you is from the Raw Bar. I was expecting much better tasting food after waiting 2 hours. The food tastes like any other on Cape Cod and certainly not worth a 2 hour wait. Our dinners arrived at 8 p.m. along with tons of mosquitos. We ate as fast as we could, got the check and got the hell out of there. I now have more mosquito bites on my body than I have had in the past 2 years combined. I suggest going there for drinks and sitting outside by the harbor and then going somewhere else for dinner. Even if you don't have to wait 2 hours.

Went there with my wife this weekend, march 22, 2013. The restaurant was very loud. We both ordered seafood. I had scrod and my wife had fish and chips. Both dishes had absolutely no taste at all, I needed to put my wife's tarter sauce on the scrod just to be able to finish the meal. Wait staff was very good and efficient, food was horrible and pricey

The food here is really hit or miss. I have had the steak tips appetizer, which was served with a horseradish cream sauce and they were very good. The chicken wings are okay, but I would never pay full price for them when they aren't having their special. The fish taco appetizer is actually pretty good and I would get it again, very tasty. The drinks are really good too. I ordered the seafood casserole once and it was absolutely terrible. Way overcooked seafood and it reminded me something you would expect to get at a hospital or a tourist trap. The nachos are large in portion size, but will leave you with an upset stomach (three of us had them and all ended up feeling nauseated after eating them). In regards to the service, it can either be awful or good. An older woman waited on me while in the bar area and she was terrific, but two or three times in the dining room the waitress was terrible. One was an older woman who seemed like she didn't know the menu and kept forgetting our drinks. It took what seemed like twenty minutes to get our first round of cocktails and it was a constant battle to get her to remember to bring everyone else's drinks after ordering. She was entirely too slow and made no apologies for the bad service and bad attitude... On the lighter side, I went back to Brax two days ago for lunch and our waitress was wonderful, she had a slight accent and was extremely sweet to us. She was attentive to our table and had a pleasant disposition. Expect to be surprised when you go here because you won't know if you'll have a pleasurable dining experience or not.

Rudely and loudly hung up on me after telling me about their 1-hour wait (on a Wednesday night in July). Typical of the cranky attitude that typifies a good share of the tourist and service sector on the Cape. What gives these people such an attitude?

Went to Brax (as always) during our Cape trip in August. I'm not sure where some of these negative reviews come from - since Brax is consistently good (one of our Cape favorites). The clam chowder was good, not great (it's one thing Brax could improve on). The broiled seafood plate, fried fisherman's platter and stuffed sole were excellent as always. We went late, so there was no wait (you have to go early or late in order to avoid a long line). Service was very good. We'll be back again next year (if not sooner).

I'm not exactly sure why this place is always so crowded. The food is ok, the atmosphere kind of sucks. The bar definitely sucks. As in many places Cape Cod, the staff act like they don't need tourists. And if at the bar, keep it simple. I ordered a gin gimlet and got a big glass half Rose's Lime and half gin. Blurg. Long waits unless you get there when your grandparents eat and it's not worth it. Over-buttered food and it's not cheap enough to balance out.

Laid-back, with ample seating on their deck, the Brax is a nice restaurant, even if I was a bit disappointed with my meal. I had one of the daily specials - salmon salad. The salmon itself was excellent, but unfortunately it was essentially plopped on top of a ceasar salad, which with too much dressing contrasted the lightness of the salmon. The lobster bisque was also lacking a bit, without any real lobster pieces, it turned out not to be creamy enough. The french fries I grabbed from my husband's plate were good and I enjoyed the piece of fried scallop I had, but overall there was just nothing amazing to make it a stand-out place.

Great views. We went there on a rainy day and sat by the window. It was really cozy inside while the weather was so gloomy outside. Our service was friendly, and I liked my fish sandwich. The prices weren't too bad, especially compared to some of the other options around.

Great location on the harbor with mediocre food. Go here for drinks or a burger but not much else.

This is a great Cape Cod watering hole, totally Mass-tastic, and really popular with the Harwich set. They've got a bunch of great beers on tap -Long Trail, a rarity, and Sam Adams Summer, Blue Moon, amongst others - and a spacious back deck overlooking the gorgeous Wychmere marina. A cold beer on a hot day out on the deck with one of their lobster rolls... pure enjoyment. They are said to have the best lobster roll around, and i can attest to its greatness; they give you a ton of very meaty salad and the buns are real, crispy crusted rolls, not just cheap hotdog jobs.

Great clam chowder, views and service. Very busy so get there early. No RSVP on the phone, must be there.

ate here everyday during one of my stays at harwichport. Loved the burgers. It was well seasoned well into the patty and there was a nice char on the outside even if I had it medium rare.

I think the food here is OK, if not a little bland. I had the same exact experience with the salmon salad as another reviewer...salmon was fine, but I felt it was just plopped on top of a bland salad. The other dishes I've had were also just OK. The only thing that would bring me back is the view from the deck. Maybe I'll just go for drinks.

Our Saturday night dinner at Brax turned out to be the highlight of our otherwise dreary Labor Day weekend on the Cape. This was my first visit to this somewhat hidden jewel of a restaurant down on the water front in Harwichport. The dining room was full when we arrived so we put in our name and ordered a beer from the bar. A mere 10 minutes later we were sat at a table over looking the water and a yacht club. The setting was perfect and it would only have been better if the sun was out and we could have had dinner on their large patio. As this was our dinner to celebrate the end of yet another amazing summer we all ordered frozen drinks from their extensive frozen drink menu. The drinks were quite tasty and blended to a perfect frozen consistency. The dinner menu had a variety of local offerings including clams, lobster and other fresh fish along with sandwiches, and different cuts of steak. I started with their clam chowder, which was amazing, and followed it with their bbq steak tip dinner. Our server was friendly, with a great sense of humor, and provided great service through the entire meal. Overall the setting is comfortable and casual, the service is great, and the entire menu is very affordable.

Location! Location!

Fantastic experience! The food was awesome, the service was excellent. I was there on a Monday night and the places was packed! We didn't wait long because we were ok sitting inside. There were a lot of large groups there, so it was a bit loud. I will definitely return.

First time at this location and may be my last. Ordered the seafood platter but was disappointed on how soggy and greasy it was. The shrimp and scallops were great but the clams and cob were just plain greasy. I would recommend the broiled platted if you are looking for variety. Service was mediocre but got the job done.

Went out to brax last weekend and it was absolutely wonderful!!! The patio has a beautiful view, the food was great and the waitress was really nice too!
